Facilities from all over the state of Florida compete for the opportunity to receive a plaque recognizing the excellent safety programs that are in place all over our state. Awards are given for exemplary safety programs in all categories (A, B, C and D) for domestic wastewater treatment plants. Each category will have a first, second and third place winner.

The David B. Lee Award is given annually by the State Association to an Active Operator. The award is based on the Operator's plant operation and his activity within the Operators Association. Points are based on criteria listed on the application.
Plant Operations Excellence Award – Water Treatment Plant

Florida Department of Environmental Protection
Each year, the department presents awards to drinking water facilities around the state that demonstrate excellence in operation, maintenance, innovative treatment, waste reduction and pollution prevention, recycling, or other special achievements. These awards are presented to recognize facilities that demonstrate a special commitment to excellence in management through dedicated professionalism. Facilities that demonstrate excellence are encouraged to complete and submit a self-nominating form to their local DEP district, local program, or Approved County Health Department (ACHD) office to be recognized.

Earle B. Phelps Award - Advanced secondary wastewater treatment

Florida Water Environment Association
The Florida Water Environment Association gives the Earle B. Phelps Award annually to recognize wastewater treatment facilities, which have maintained the highest removal of major pollution-causing constituents prior to discharging, treated effluent to receiving waters. Nominees will be evaluated against treatment facilities of the same relative size and treatment type.
